ISLAMABAD: Ambassador of Qatar in Pakistan, Saqr Bin Mubarak Al-Mansouri called on Federal Minister for Defence Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain at Ministry of Defence Production, Rawalpindi, on Wednesday.

While highlighting the importance of brotherly relations between Pakistan with Qatar, Tanveer Hussain said that Pakistan values its relations with Qatar and wants to further strengthen these relations. He expressed special thanks to Minister for State for Defence Affairs, Dr Khalid Al Attiyah over extending invitation to attend DIMDEX-18.

Tanveer Hussain briefed the ambassador about salient features of JF-17 thunder aircraft. He said it is an advanced, all weather, multi-role fighter aircraft with an excellent air-to-air, and air-to-ground combat capabilities. He also briefed the dignitary about defence industries and their state-of-the-art products. He further said that the Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) have the expertise and skills to establish production facilities for infantry weapons, small arms and ammunition while security products manufactured by Heavy Industries Taxila (HIT) can also be beneficial for Qatar’s defence forces.

Both sides expressed desire to expand defence industrial cooperation. The importance of joint ventures and exchange of expertise between the two countries also came under discussion.

The federal minister conveyed best wishes for the guest, his family and people of Qatar.

He extended an invitation to Qatari leadership to attend IDEAS-2018 to be held in November 2018.
