LAHORE: A large number of Pakistani companies are expected to take part in the China International Import Expo being organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China in November this year.

Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP)’s Director General Mian Riaz Ahmed revealed this at a meeting with the Pakistan Association of Automotive Parts and Accessories Manufacturers (PAAPAM)’s Secretary General Muhammad Arshad here at the TDPA office on Thursday.

Mian Riaz Ahmad said the Ministry of Commerce attaches great priority to promote trade with China. Pakistani products would also be showcased at the stalls in Pakistani pavilion to project the local goods which would help boost export industry of the country.

“TDAP is already extending its cooperation to the country exporters for showcasing their products at the international exhibitions for their better projection at the international level,” the Director General said and asserted that the government is trying to address the issues of trade barriers in trade. He said the local industry’s concerns would also be addressed amicably to support the genuine cause of the export sector. He hoped that the government efforts would yield better results in enhancing the country’s exports.

Meanwhile, Vice Chairman of Pakistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PCMEA) Qamar Zia also held a meeting with TDAP Director General and expressed the interest of his association’s members for participating the China International Import Expo.
