PTI’s vote neither for PML-N nor PPP candidates: Imran

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has said that PTI senators would neither vote to Pakistan Peoples Party nor to PML-N in the election for the slot of Senate chairman.

Speaking at a press conference here Friday after the PTI's core committee meeting, Imran Khan announced to support candidates from Balochistan and FATA for the slots of chairman and deputy chairman Senate respectively.

Imran said that FATA has rendered sacrifices in war against terror and people of Balochistan and FATA have been feeling deprived for last many years. Therefore, he said Senate chairman should be from Balochistan and deputy chairman should be elected from FATA so that their sacrifices be acknowledged. The chairman PTI added it is decision of the core committee.

"We must strengthen federation; Senate is representative body of federation", said Imran Khan. He said that he is also expecting that PPP would support PTI in this respect.

Responding a question regarding alliance with PPP and PML-N in election of chairman Senate, he said that there is no point to shake hands with both the parties as he is not playing politics. He said he came in politics with a cause.

"Our fight is not against an individual but about the dilemma of corruption that is eroding our political and social stratums," said Khan. He categorically mentioned that his 22 years struggle against corruption will not allow him to shake hands with Zardari and likes. "PTI will never support PPP and PMLN in any circumstances," he categorically said.
