KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Monday granted bail to a Chinese citizen who was arrested for allegedly facilitating other Chinese in skimming Automated Teller Machine (ATM).

Xao Zing, who was nabbed by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), approached the SHC through his counsel Barrister Ahmed Raza and submitted that he was an innocent.

The counsel said that the applicant used to run a guest house in Karachi and had rented out some rooms to other Chinese.

Terming the charges levelled against Zing baseless, Barrister Raza requested the court to release Zing on bail.

After hearing the arguments, the SHC bench granted his bail against the surety of Rs 500,000.

Earlier, the FIA had arrested as many as five suspects from different parts of the city for installing different devices in the ATM and stealing data from it.
