FAISALABAD: The US keen to promote the tempo of bilateral relations with Pakistan and in this connection it will continue to support Pakistan with necessary financial aid, said Ms Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau, the US Consulate General Lahore.

During a meeting with President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) Shabbir Hussian Chawla, she appreciated the role of Faisalabad in the overall economic development of Pakistan.

She also welcomed the organization of “Made in Faisalabad Expo” to be held in Lahore on 24-25 March and hoped that it would pay a positive role to introduce made in Faisalabad products at the international level.

Earlier extending formal invitation to Ms Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau to attend the ‘Made in Faisalabad Expo’, President FCCI said that Faisalabad is the third major industrial hub of Pakistan which is also second in revenue generation.

He said that the economic strength of Faisalabad is textile as this city alone is contributing 55 per cent share in the total textile export of Pakistan.

He further said that a biggest and well-planned industrial estate M3 is being developed in Faisalabad where new and the state of the art industrial units are being established.

He hoped that Ms Elizabeth Kennedy Trudeau will motivate American investors to set up their units in this industrial state.

He said that Faisalabad is strategically located in the heart of Pakistan from where exports surplus could be easily marketed in this region which is inhabited by 67 per cent of the total population of the world.

He said that One Belt, One Road initiative will also link this city with China central, Asia, Middle East and European markets. Former President FCCI Engineer Sohail Bin Rashid was also present during this meeting.

He explained details regarding a delegation scheduled to visit America within next couple of months.
