ISLAMABAD: The government has released Rs607.44 billion (60.68 percent), including 140.13 billion foreign aid, for different development projects under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) 2017-18 against the total budgeted allocation of Rs1001 billion.

According to the latest data released by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform, the government has released Rs138.93 billion (46 percent of total budgeted amount of federal ministries) for development projects of various federal ministries against the total budgeted allocation of Rs301.83 billion.

The government has not released funds for development projects of various ministries, divisions and their departments including, Foreign Affairs Division, Religious Affairs & Interfaith Harmony Division, Textile Industry Division, National Security Division, Special Provision for Completion of CPEC Project and Gas Infrastructure Development Cess.

The government has released Rs243.25 billion including Rs91.45 billion foreign aid for infrastructure projects of National Highway Authority (NHA) against the budgeted allocation of Rs324.72 billion. The government has released Rs18.27 billion for development projects of Pakistan Railway Division against total budgeted allocation of Rs42.9 billion for current fiscal year 2017-18.

The Planning Commission has released Rs35.77 billion including Rs35.65 billion foreign aid for development projects of Ministry of Water and Power (Power Sector) against the budgeted allocation of Rs60.91 billion. An amount of Rs25.69 billion including Rs 122 million foreign aid has been released for Water and Power Division (Water Sector) against the total budgeted allocation of Rs36.75 billion for current fiscal year.

The government has released Rs11.03 billion for different projects of Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission against the total budgeted allocation of Rs15.09 billion for fiscal year 2017-18.

An amount of Rs19.01 billion including Rs64.202 million foreign aid has been released for different projects of Higher Education Commission (HEC) against the total budgeted allocations of Rs35.7 billion.

The government has released Rs2.5 billion to Capital Administration and Development Division, Rs529.7 million to Climate Change Division, Rs285 million to Commerce Division, Rs5.34 billion for Communication Division (other than NHA), Rs9.2 billion to Interior Division, Rs226.5 million to Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority and Rs1.99 billion to Planning, Development and Reform.

Under PSDP 2017-18, an amount of Rs9.24 billion including Rs503.4 million was released for different development projects of National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination Division against the total budgeted allocation of Rs48.7 billion. The government released Rs1.01 billion for different developmental projects of National Food Security and Research Division against the earmarked Rs1.62 billion for the development of agriculture sector in the country.

The government has released Rs53.43 billion for Special Federal Development Program for temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) against Rs90 billion budgeted allocation and Rs11.95 billion for development projects of Prime Minister’s Youth and Hunarmand Program under current fiscal year 2017-18.

The entire amount of Rs30 billion has been released for Prime Minister’s Global SDGs Achievement Program.

The government released Rs12.83 billion to Finance Division, Rs2.45 billion to Aviation Division, Rs1.01 billion to Port and Shipping Division, Rs873.95 million to Science and Technological Research Division, Rs218.597 million for Defense Division, Rs7.324 million for Housing and Works Division and Rs1.79 billion for Defense and Production Division.

The government released Rs16 billion including Rs871.89 million foreign aid for development projects of Azad Jammu and Kashmir against the total budgeted allocation of Rs25.84 billion for current fiscal year. The government also released Rs15.26 billion for development projects of Gilgit-Baltistan against Rs18.3 billion budgeted allocation, while Rs17 billion have been released for the projects of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) against the total budgeted allocation of Rs26.9 billion.
