Rates of plots in Sindh’s SIEs, IPs increased

KARACHI: The Sindh government has enhanced the rates of plot as well as transfer fee for small industrial estates (SIEs) and industrial parks (IPs) in the province. It also increased the maintenance fee and rates of building plan for such estates in various parts of Sindh.
According to notification of Sindh Small Industries Corporation (SSIC), the decision was taken at its meeting of board of directors of SSIC, which was chaired by Sindh Minister for Industries & Commerce Manzoor Wassan.
According to the notification, cost of the plot for various SIEs/IPs in different parts of the provinc, from 500 to 2000 per sq yard. Cost of plot for SIE Northern Bypass Karachi went up to Rs 4000 per sq yd from Rs 2000. It also increased to Rs 1000 from Rs.500 for SIE Thatha, to Rs 2500 from Rs 1600 for SIE (ext) Hyderabad, to Rs 1000 from Rs 600 for SIE/IP Mirpurkhas.
Cost of plot also increased for SIE, Hala, which increased from Rs 600 to Rs 800 per sq.yd, for SIE Badin from Rs 225 to Rs 600, from Rs 600 to Rs.1200 for SIE Dadu, from Rs 500 to Rs 800 for SIE Sukkur (ext), from Rs 800 to Rs 1600 for SIE Gambat, from Rs 800 to Rs 1600 for SIE Rohri and Rs 800 to Rs 1000 for SIE Nawabshah.
The provincial government also enhanced the transfer fee of all SIEs/IPs from Rs 50 to Rs 250 per sq.yd whereas maintenance fee has also been increased from Rs 10 to Rs 50 per sq.yd.
Fee for building plan of SIEs/IPs has been categorized according to size of the plot. Of all SIEs/IPs except SIE Northern Bypass Karachi, now the allottees would be charged Rs.30,000 for 500 sq yds and Rs 5000 for 1000 sq yds per unit compared to uniform rate of Rs 3000 per unit.
For SIE NBP Karachi, Rs. 50,000 would be charged for 250 sq.yd and Rs 100, 000 for 500 sq yds per unit against Rs 3000 per unit per sq.yd.
The Board also approved Rs 1 million financial assistance for rehabilitation of Ceramic Training-cum-Production Center Nasarpur, Rs 2 lac financial assistance for Readymade Garment Center Khairpur and establishment of an outlet of SSIC at Sehwan.
