KARACHI: With advent of elections season, the PML-N-led federal government has come up with execution of multibillion uplift schemes for Karachi as Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair on Thursday announced four mega projects worth Rs 8.6 billion for the city as part of Karachi Development Package.

Addressing the news conference at Governor House, Sindh governor said the ground breaking of the projects would be held next week.

Zubair said federal government would construct three flyovers worth Rs 2.35 billion at Sakhi Hassan, Five Star and Board Office. The government would also construct Manghopir Road in two phases with the allocation of Rs 3.5 billion.

The federal government would also construct Nisthar Road with an estimated cost of Rs 860 million. With the cost of Rs 1.9 billion, he said federal government would also improve the fire fighting system in the city. .
