RECORDER REPORT

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Friday gave additional portfolio of foreign affairs to Federal Minister for Defence Khurram Dastgir Khan.

It was notified through a notification issued by the Cabinet Secretariat, which states: “In terms of the sub-rule 4 of the Rules of Business, 1973, the Prime Minister has been pleased to assign, with immediate effect, the additional portfolio of foreign affairs to Engr Khurram Dastgir Khan, Federal Minister for Defense.”

The decision comes following the disqualification of former Foreign Minister Khawaja Asif from being a member of the National Assembly by a court last month under Article 62 (1)(f) of the Constitution for failing to disclose his employment in a UAE company and the monthly salary he was receiving.
