‘Fundamental rights’

This is apropos a letter to the Editor carried by the newspaper in its Saturday’s issue. The writer has pointed out how fundamental rights of citizens are protected by the Constitution of Pakistan. One of the fundamental rights says that there shall be freedom of trade, business and profession for all citizens. It, therefore, raises a question: How can tax non-filers be disallowed to purchase property?

According to the Constitution of Pakistan, all citizens have right to acquire, hold and dispose of property in any part of Pakistan.
