LAHORE: A farewell meeting was held, in Central Police office here on Sunday, in connection of promotion of Additional IG PHP Amjid Javid Saleemi in Grade 22 and his appointment as IG National Highways and Motorways.

Additional IG Amjid Javid Saleemi while addressing the participants said a commander should be like a tree, his relation with subordinates should be like father and son. Subordinates should have direct access to their respective officers. He said during my posting I have direct access with my force personnel.

Additional IG appreciated the performance of PHP personnel. After that, DIG Ghulam Mehmood Dogar in his address said 1263 Constables were being recruited including 110 lady constables while 275 personnel were given promotion from constable to head constable and 93 ASIs’ promotion is under process. Millions of trees were planted under green highways drive.

Comprehensive program was initiated to improve the physical/fitness level of personnel by conducting 03 weeks Field Craft Course at 04 different stations. Ten new posts constructed while 07 made operational and repairing work of 240 posts was completed. He said 5849 cases are registered against criminals and 39617 were arrested. 2864 proclaimed offenders and 374 court absconders were arrested. 71 Kalashnikov and 2060 cases registered under the head of illicit arms. He told that 940 lost and kidnapped children were handed over to their parents. He said 90046 encroachments were removed.

DIG Ghulam Mehmood Dogar said in complementary statement to Additional IG PHP Amjid Javid Saleemi that we feel more secure under your command. SP Headquarters Shazia Sarwar said I enhanced professional qualities under your chairmanship. SSP Lahore Region Zubair Derashak said you gave special attention to Welfare Training and development of Police personnel. SP Faisalabad Umme Salma said you always directed us in a good manner.
