RECORDER REPORT

FAISALABAD: President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), Shabbir Hussain Chawla has expressed concern over unscheduled electricity load shedding in some parts of the city, and said that he will write a letter to Chief Executive Officer Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) to redress this situation on top priority basis.

Chairing a meeting of the Executive Committee of FCCI on Wednesday, Chawla told that as per his information the load shedding was increased due to a technical fault in three RLNG based power projects of Punjab which resulted in immediate shortfall of 2000MW of electricity in the national grid.

However now this issue has been resolved but if load shedding is still continuing then it is a matter of serious concern.

He said that Chief Executive Officer FESCO will also be invited to address the FCCI members and personally explain the measures taken by FESCO to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the Industrial sector.

Earlier Hajji Tallib Husaain, executive member complained that unscheduled load shedding was hitting hard many industrial areas of the city. “It was not only affecting the industrial activities but was also adding extra financial burden on industrialist who have to pay salaries to their workers without putting them to work.

He requested that FCCI should take notice of this situation so that necessary remedial measures could be taken by the concerned departments without any inordinate delay.
