KARACHI: Eid-ul-Fitr is likely to be on Saturday, June 16, as moon for the first Shawwal will be seen in the country and elsewhere in the world on June 15.

The astronomical analysis suggests the Shawwal moon's birth on June 14 (Thursday) at 12:45 am. The moon will be seen in the most parts of the world on June 15. However, the moon could be sighted in Africa and America on June 14 (Thursday).

The crescent be visible on 29th Ramazan (June 14) in Makkah but with a very low chances in Karachi and will be invisible In Islamabad and Peshawar. However, there is a probability of moon visibility in the coastal parts of Sindh and Balochistan with an optical help on Thursday.

Without an optical help, the moon will be easily seen across Pakistan on June 15 (30th Ramazan) after sunset at 7:22 pm in Karachi, 7:19 pm in Islamabad and 7:26 pm in Peshawar. The moon will remain visible for 100 minutes in Karachi and Peshawar before setting at 9:02 pm and 96 minutes in Islamabad until 8:55 pm.
