KARACHI: A large number of beggars have stormed the city in order to make money by exploiting religious sentiments of the people in the city ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Besides, most of the baggers from upcountry also arrived in the city to get alms.

It is observed that poor families prefer to send their children to beg rather than to school.

These children earn huge amounts in the month of Ramazan. Children are considered the main source of their income.

It is also observed that there are two kinds of beggar in the city, one who really deserves help and another is a self-made beggar who really does not want help for fulfilment of his necessities, but he wants money for satisfaction of bad habits.

It is very difficult to find a deserving ones as the professionals looked more active to persuade for charity.

They were seen flocked around road signals waiting for cars to stop. On refusal they bang on car window and kept repeating their demand.

It is a common sight to see beggars on the streets, at traffic signals, bus stands, residential areas, Masjids , shopping malls and eating-outlets.

The shoppers at different commercial markets complained that beggars forced them for alms by asking again and again.
