LAHORE: The nomination papers of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Maryam Nawaz for the National Assembly constituency NA-127 has been cleared by the returning officer.

Earlier, the returning officer reserved verdict after objection was raised for having two passports; one with the name of Maryam Nawaz and the other with the name of Maryam Safdar. However, the returning officer rejected the objection and accepted the nomination papers.

It is pertinent to mention that the daughter of former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif had appeared before the returning officer on Wednesday for the scrutiny of her nomination papers. During the process, the returning officer had asked Maryam many questions.

The contesting candidates can withdraw their candidature by June 28 after which final list of candidates will be published on the same day. Election symbols will be allotted to the contesting candidates on 29th of this month.
