ISLAMABAD: Indian troops, in their continued acts of state terrorism, martyred thirty three Kashmiris including four young boys during the month of June.

According to the data issued by the Research Section of Kashmir Media Service Sunday, of those martyred, three youth were killed in a fake encounter in Kupwara. The killings rendered three women widowed and four children orphaned.

During the period, 236 people were injured due to the use of brute force including firing of bullets, pellets, PAVA and teargas shells by the Indian army, paramilitary and police personnel on peaceful protesters while 176 persons including Hurriyat activists and students were arrested during house raids and crackdown operations. The troops also damaged 22 residential houses during the month.

Meanwhile, from 1989 to May 31, 2018 Indian troops have martyred 95,017 people in held Kashmir. Out of which 7108 persons killed in custody, 144,016 civilian were arrested, 108,800 structures arsoned/destroyed, 22,875 women widowed, 107,713 children orphaned, and 11,077 women gang-raped/molested.

During the month of May a total of 32 Kashmiris have been killed, while 3 were killed during custody, 314 people were injured critically and 288 civilians were arrested.—NNI
