LAHORE: The Flood Warning Center has forecast urban flood in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore & Sargodha Divisions on 03rd and 04th July-2018.

In its forecast, it said that River Kabul at Nowshera is in Low Flood Level and all the other major rivers are flowing in their state of normal flow. Moreover Low to Medium level Flooding is expected in the Nullahs of Rivers Ravi and Chenab and Urban Flood in Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore & Sargodha Divisions on 03rd and 04th July-2018. Flooding is also expected in the Hill torrents of DG Khan Division from 04th to 06th July-2018.

The Met office said that seasonal Low lies over North Balochistan with its trough extending eastwards. Monsoon currents from Arabian Sea are continuously penetrating upper parts of the country and likely to strengthen during next 24 hours.

A westerly wave is also present over upper parts of the country and likely to persist during next 2-3 days.

It said scattered wind thunderstorm/rain with isolated moderate falls is expected over Upper catchments of all the major rivers along with Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, and Sahiwal Divisions. Isolated thunderstorm/rain is expected over Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, and Kohat & DG Khan Divisions.

It said during next 48 hours scattered wind thunderstorm/rain with isolated heavy is expected over Multan, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat & DI Khan Divisions along with Northeast Balochistan and Upper catchments of all the major rivers. One or two very heavy falls is expected over Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Sahiwal and DG Khan Divisions.

Meanwhile weather remained hot and dry in most parts of the country on Monday. However, rain-thundershower with gusty winds occurred at isolated places in Hazara, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala divisions and Kashmir as under: Kakul 58mm, Murree 31mm, Kotli 24mm, Tandali 12mm, Palandri 08mm, Phulra 06mm, Muzaffarabad and Brarkot 04mm (each), Domel, Chakothi and Pattan 02mm (each), Kotnaina, Chattar Kallas and Garhidupatta 01mm (each).
