LAHORE: Provincial Minister IC&T Mian Anjum Nisar has said that the protection of the traders and industrialists is the top priority of government of Punjab.

He expressed these views while chairing a meeting at PIEDMC’s office on Saturday. Chairman PIEDMC Abdul Basit, President LCCI Malik Tahir Javed, CEO PIEDMC Shahriyar Saleem, Syed Tariq Siraj, Arif Qasim, Ahsan Mahmood Butt, Ch Zaheer Ahmed Bhutta, Shafique A Naqi and others were present in the meeting.

Chairman PIEDMC Abdul Basit informed that LDA had sent the issue of zoning and all the recommendations to Chief Minister’s Secretariat but the issuance of notification is still awaited due to which traders community is upset. He requested the provincial minister to provide support for issuance of the notification as soon as possible.

All the traders discussed their issues in detail in which mapping and zonings, drainage of water, gas, electricity supply, licensing fees, special economic zones, issuance of NOC from environment department, maps approval and problem of traffic flow at Railway Crossing near Kot Lakhpat Factory Area were included.

President of LCCI Malik Tahir said there are 40,000 industries in Lahore and zoning is the only best solution for the traders. He also offered that the LCCI’s platform can be utilized for all the issues related to the business community.

Provincial Minister Mian Anjum Nisar said that the department of industries will be available 24 hours for the solution of traders’ community and he will personally try to solve the problems of entire business community in the short term tenure. He asked the Chairman PIEDMC to make a proposal regarding railway crossing issue and also send details of applications to provincial department regarding business community issues for the quick follow up.
