LAHORE: Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute Prof. Agha Shabeer Ali has called upon the doctors’ community to provide proper counseling to the patients which can help them in saving from different diseases. He said that apart from providing medical facilities should also educate them on their health issues, preventive measures and their solution.

While addressing a workshop on ‘Hajj and Diabetes’ here at Lahore General Hospital held in collaboration of Ameer Uddin Medical, Principal PGMI said that including diabetes awareness has an important role for which media also playing its important role and with the participation of doctors’ community more positive results can be attained. Other speakers in the workshop said that balanced diet and proper exercise can give good results to the diabetes patients and in Hajj special measures should be ensured to avoid any complication.

They highlighted that due to hectic schedule during Hajj more pressure can be there on the human body and it is more important to keep in view the medicine routine and body safety in view. This workshop was held with the cooperation of Lahore General Hospital Medical Unit 2 where Head of the Department Dr. Imran Hassan Khan and his medical team played their role in this regard. Medical Experts Prof. Khalid Waheed, Dr. Maliha Hameed, Dr. Salman Shakeel, Dr. Kashif and Dr. Fatima Hamdani in their training lectures said that it is the responsibility of the physicians and doctors to properly educate and train their patients before leaving for Hajj and this workshop is aimed at the same objectives. At the end of the workshop Principal PGMI Prof. Agha Shabeer Ali and Medical Superintendent Dr. Mehmood Salah Uddin distributed souvenirs and certificates among the participants of this workshop and appreciated such healthy activities.
