PESHAWAR: Awami National Party (ANP) Central senior vice president, Ghulam Ahmad Bilour has expressed displeasure over the conviction time of Nawaz Sharif and his family members by the Accountability Court, saying the former PML-N president and ex-prime minister would take benefit from the verdict.

Bilour while speaking at a news conference at press club here on Monday hoped that the judgment would not influence the upcoming general elections in the country.

Taking a jibe on the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf chairman, Imran Khan, Bilour said that he (Imran Khan) had talked about the elimination of corruption, if voted to power in the province. But, his own party lawmakers had sold their votes for allegedly money in the last Senate polls.

When the people asked the PTI lawmakers why they had changed their royalties in the Senate elections, they replied that their leader had already sold out their mandate, ANP leader said.

Bilour alleged that the employees of Peshawar Development Authority and workers of Water and Sanitation Service Peshawar are working against his party as the ANP flags and banners are being removed in Peshawar, but don’t do the same with other political parties.

He criticised that the former PTI led provincial government had failed to bring any change during the last five years rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He viewed that it was tendency in KP that a political party ruled five years, but it couldn’t get another term.

He vowed that ANP will eliminate poverty and unemployment, if it would get another chance to rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He added that they would bring the provincial bureaucracy and police force at par with Punjab and will give number of additional incentives.

On this occasion, the Qaumi Watan Party youth wing, Watan Pal district Peshawar president Jalat Khan, General Secretary Khan Saeed, Joint Secretary Mohammad Alam and the rest member of QWP youth wing announced to join the ANP.
