ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister former Justice Nasir-ul-Mulk was briefed about the functions of Aviation Division on Tuesday.

The briefing was attended by Minister for Aviation Lt-Gen Naeem Khalid Lodhi (retd), secretary aviation Dr Ijaz Munir, Additional Secretary to the Prime Minister Kazim Niaz, ASF DG Maj-Gen Ali Abbas, CAA DG G Hassan Baig, DG Metrological Department Ghulam Rasool, CEO PIACL Musharraf Rasool and senior government officials.

The secretary aviation made a presentation on the mandate and efforts of the Aviation Division for the development, promotion and regulation of aviation sector of the country, besides ensuring safety of air traffic and aerodromes, said a press release issued here. The secretary also briefed the prime minister, in detail, about the affairs of various organizations including Civil Aviation Authority, Pakistan International Airlines, Airport Security Force and Pakistan Meteorological Department. While briefing the prime minister about the Aviation Policy, it was informed that the National Aviation Policy 2015 was under review to cater for the improvements identified during its implementation.

The meeting also reviewed matters relating to PIACL. The issues confronting the organization and the business plan for revival of the flag carrier were also discussed during the meeting. The prime minister directed that a robust strategy should be followed to achieve set milestones, within specific time frame, to ensure success of the plan.—PR
