PESHAWAR: The religio-political alliance MMA on Friday staged a demonstration to protest against alleged rigging in Sakhakot, district Malakand and rejected the results of general elections 2018. Besides, component political parties of the alliance and the workers of other political parties participated in the demonstration at large.

Led by the MMA’s candidates from NA-8, Malakand, Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan and provincial assembly constituency PK-19, Maulana Jamaluddin the protesters blocked Malakand-Mardan Highway for all kind of vehicular traffic for one hour. The protesters also marched on the road in Sakhakot Bazaar.

Addressing the protestors, the MMA provincial president and former candidate from NA-8, Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan, Maulana Jamaluddin, former Senator Sahibzada Khalid Jan and Maulana Javed Khan said the recent general election was insult of polls as it nothing more than selection.

They alleged that the elections were prepared before by the election commission and establishment prior elections. They said incidents occurred at different polling stations had unveiled the shameful face of elections. They alleged that the polling agents of all political parties were evicted from the polling stations, saying such kind of incidents and polls will push the country towards anarchy and lawlessness.

They bitterly criticized the PTI chief Imran Khan and vowed to resist the westernization of Pakistani society. They announced that their protest demonstration will continue till the withdrawal of fixed electoral results and holding of fresh transparent polls.
