PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority on Monday carried out various operations across the province where seven food outlets including, Bakery, cold drinks distributors, general store and fast food were sealed over non-compliance with food safety standards.

According to spokesperson Attaullah Khan, KP Food Authority conducted an operation at Peshawar where two distributors of substandard chips were being sealed over-noncompliance with food safety standards. The authority inspection team has found use of unsafe chemicals in the inspected chips. Another team conducted an operation where fifty kilograms of substandard chicken items were discarded.

In Mardan, the team sealed a bakery and a general store over selling of expired and substandard items to the customers.

Spokesperson also added that on public complaint, Abbottabad team carried an operation against a fast food outlet where the outlet was sealed over bad sanitation and dirty kitchen.
