KARACHI:  Chief Secretary Sindh Major Azam Suleman Khan (Retired) has warned officers that no negligence will be tolerated in providing pure drinking water to the people of the province and all directives of Sindh Water Commission (SWC) will be followed as per their spirits.

Expressing his displeasure over officials for running Reverse Osmosis (RO) plants bellow the original capacities of the plants ,he directed Secretary Public Health Engineering (PHE) to submit a detailed report that why these RO plants are not providing drinking water as per their original capacities.

Presiding over a meeting on Tuesday, he further stated that PHE Department will now have great responsibilities.

“I believe that the officers of PHE will work with all their zeal & enthusiasm for the better water supply and sanitation”.

He said that as per directives of water commission all projects will be shifted to the concerned departments as soon as possible.

The meeting was briefed about the RO and Ultra filtration plants installed in various parts of the province.

The meeting was also briefed about the projects being shifted from Special Initiatives and Local Government Departments to the PHE and others departments.

The Chairman Planning & Development Board, Secretary Energy, Secretary public health engineering and others concerned officers attended the meeting.
