LAHORE: The Hebei CPEC Research Center, Shijiazhuang, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Pakistan Traders Front (PTF) to establish long-term, sustainable and mutually beneficial cooperation in areas of trade & research, industrial linkages and trainings.
The head of Chinese delegation Shie Lie and PTF Chairman Raja Hassan Akhtar signed the memorandum on behalf of their respective organizations.
Raja Hassan Akhtar said Pakistan and China are enjoying very cordial relationship with each other. Both the countries have been cooperating in various fields of interest and collaborating in different sectors.
He said Pakistan and China should jointly establish industrial estates, special economic zones, industrial cluster and cottage industry. He also highlighted investment opportunities in energy and value-addition sections. He also stressed the need for further strengthening bilateral cooperation through joint economic projects in the areas such as energy, power, railways, telecommunications and IT under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
Speaking on the occasion, Shie Lie said the Chinese are interested in large scale investments in Pakistan. He asked the PTF office-bearers to provide information about the potential areas for setting up joint ventures. A research scholar, Xu Xupeng, said exchange of trade delegations and timely dissemination of trade and investment-related information can help boost two-way trade.
