QUETTA: The 53rd Defence of Pakistan Day was celebrated with traditional zeal at military installation of Quetta and other several districts of Balochistan on Thursday.

The Day dawned with the recitation of Holy Quran and special prayers were offered for prosperity and stability of country in respective mosques. The recitation of Fateha and Quran Khwani was also held for the martyrs.

According to receiving report, the Defence Day was observed in Balochistan’s districts including Quetta, Mustang, Nushki, Khuzdar, Kalat, Kharan, Chaghi, Killa Abdullah, Harnai, Sibi, Loralai, Pishin, Jaffarabad, Nasirabad, and other parts of the province.

In his statement on the occasion, Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Haji Mir Muhammad Hashim Notazai said we should never forget the Day of September 6, because our brave Army had competed with enemy and had defeated them on same day. He said many officers and soldiers of Pak Army had embraced martyrdom and laid down foundation of country from their marvelous sacrifices.

Muhammad Hashim said we are living peacefully in the country due to tremendous sacrifices of our valiant officers of Pak Army and soldiers. “We stand up with Pak Army for stability and defence of the country”, he said and adding that we all have to show unity and solidarity to protect motherland, so that no enemy could conspire against our state. He expressed the resolve that we will leave no stone unturned for protection, development and prosperity of the area.—APP
