KARACHI: Dr Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) on Wednesday along with a delegation called on Engineer Jawed Saleem Qureshi, Chairman Pakistan Engineering Council.

The meeting was also attended by IIUI Vice Presidents Dr. Aqdas Naveed Malik, Dr. Muhammad Munir, Advisor to IIUI President, Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) Dr. Muhammad Amir, Engineer Nasir Mehmood Khan, Head accreditation PEC and other relevant officials. On the occasion, a joint initiative of launching national academy of engineering and a technology park were discussed and both sides agreed to form a steering committee to expiate the development in this regard.

IIUI President apprised the chairman about university activities, academic excellence and also briefed him on the efforts regarding making the engineering faculty among leading ones in the country. He thanked Chairman PEC for continuous support and guidance and assured that university would keep meeting the criterions required by PEC.

Dr. Al-Draiweesh told that IIUI was serving Muslim world through its more than 100 degree programs and youth was nurtured with a balanced approach blended with Islamic values. Dr Aqdas Naveed Malik also briefed the meeting regarding the development works being done in the faculty.

Engineer Jawed Saleem assured of maximum cooperation with the university and lauded the efforts IIUI in various fields. He said the PEC will keep guiding the university regarding requirements of development, advancements and accreditation.—PR
