PESHAWAR: Maulana Hamidul Haq, son of assassinated Jamiat Ulema Islam-Sami (JUI-S) chief Maulana Samiul Haq, was named as acting chief of the party on Sunday.

Talking to media after becoming acting chief of the party, Hamidul Haq announced that all party positions will remain same.

“I have become an orphan,” Haq said after being announced as the party’s acting chief. The current party positions of all the members will remain the same, he said.

Meanwhile, the prominent political and noted figures, including Jamiat-e-Ulema Islam–F (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rahman, National Assembly Speaker, Asad Qaiser, Federal Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak visited Dar Uloom-e-Haqqania and offered condolences to the family over the sad demise of Maulana Samiullah Haq, who was stabbed to death by unknown persons at his residence in Rawalpindi.

The National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser and Federal Minister for Defence, Pervez Khattak met brother of the slain Maulana Samiullah Haq and son Maulana Hamidul Haq. They offered deep sympathies to them and offered Fateha for the departed soul.
