NUST strives to enhance placement opportunities for students

ISLAMABAD: Having 94 percent employment rate of its graduates within one year of their graduation, as per the QS World Rankings, National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) strives to enhance placement opportunities for its students.

With this objective, the NUST has set a new precedent of holding a series of job fairs in the three major cities of Pakistan including Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi during the months of March and April. These job fairs are intended to enable students to come closer to industry and simultaneously afford employers access to qualified and well-groomed graduates, says a press release issued here on Friday.

The NUST set the stage for Islamabad Job Fair to offer employers a chance to recruit soon-to-be graduates from NUST – the country’s leading higher education institution with global standing. Lieutenant General Naweed Zaman, HI (M) (retd), Rector NUST, graced the ceremony as chief guest and visited various stalls of participating industry reps during the Meet & Greet Session.

A large number of multi-sectoral industry partners from Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Rawat, Haripur/Hattar, Jhelum and Gujrat attended the event. These included Teradata, S&P Global, Telenor, Zong, Ufone, Jazz, Askari Bank, Kohinoor Textile Mills, United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), Shifa International Hospitals, National Logistics Cell (NLC) to name a few.—PR
