KARACHI: Chairman Pasban Democratic Party (PDP), Altaf Shakoor has said that the PTI government has also disappointed Pakistani nation as it has continued the same failed economic policies of previous regimes.

He said that continuation of the outdated economic policies is responsible for ongoing crisis facing the nation and country.

Addressing a meeting of PDP Steering Committee to debate the budget, he said that innovative and independent economic policies are the need of hour to avoid harsh conditionality of the IMF loans.

He said the budget is not a balanced one and there is a need to tax rich more and facilitate the poor. PDP’s Vice Chairman of economic affairs division Dr Shahida Wizarat said the budget lacks balance, adding we have to change our economic policies and economic managers. She said as a result of this budget the economic crisis will further increase. She said we should have to receive proper compensation for the use of our land, air routes and our natural resources on market rate. She said major portion of budget goes outside Pakistan for payment of foreign loans and their interest. She said the rich class is not being brought in tax net. She opposed taxes on edible and kitchen commodities.

PDP Sindh Senior Vice President, Rafiq Ahmed Khaskheli said the spell of Waderas in Sindh is now breaking and it is also due to 25 years long struggle of Pasban.

Dr Abu-Bakr Sheikh said that the entire world is under the shadows of fear of wars.
