RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab President Rana Sanaullah was arrested by a team of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Monday allegedly on the charge of having links with drug dealers.

The ANF team took the MNA into its custody near Sukheki area on his way to Lahore from Faisalabad. Rana Sanaullah is accused of having relations with drug sellers and has been taken into custody for investigations, sources said.

The sources added that the drug dealers are linked to banned organizations. “Rana Sanaullah is said to have been arrested in a drugs-related case,” the sources added.

The ANF has not officially specified the charges on which Sanaullah has been picked up. Details of the charges and the arrest will be issued soon, a source said. PML-N leader Attaullah Tarrar told media that he had contacted Sanullah who was about to leave the Sukheki area to attend a meeting in Lahore.

PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz blamed Prime Minister Imran Khan for the arrest, accusing him of being “directly behind” the arrest. Rana Sanaullah has been arrested for his bold and courageous stance. “Jaali-e-Azam” being the small and petty minded man that he is, is directly behind his arrest,” she said.
