LAHORE: Punjab government has collected Rs 22.9 billion in the form of both taxes and non-tax revenues in July, the first month of the ongoing fiscal year 2019-20, registering a growth of almost 47 percent as compared to the corresponding period last fiscal year that stood at Rs 15.5 billion.

Punjab Finance Minister Makhdoom Hashim Jawan Bakht appreciated the efforts of the tax collecting agencies of the province for showing an impressive performance in revenue collection growth in both tax and non-tax segment in July 2019, disclosed a ministry’s spokesperson here on Wednesday.

The total tax revenue collection was increased by almost Rs 6 billion that reached Rs 19.34 billion from Rs 13.12 billion in the corresponding period last fiscal year.
