LAHORE: Inaugurating the ‘Sehat Insaf Card’ programme for the districts of Chakwal and Jhelum on Wednesday, Punjab chief minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday said that about 30 percent of the total population in the province will be provided best health-cover through this scheme.

In Chakwal, more than 436 thousand deserving people will be facilitated through this scheme while in Jhelum, over 336,000 people will be facilitated through this scheme. The PTI government is constructing nine new hospitals in Punjab while a record 30 percent increase has been made in health cover, he said.

The chief minister announced to set up a new DHQ hospital in Chakwal as the present hospital is not in good conditions. “We will construct a new DHQ hospital,” he added.

Buzdar said that bill of setting up of a university in Chakwal has been approved and added that he will lay the foundation stone during the next visit. He maintained that the journey of development will continue and all the projects announced by him will be monitored personally.

Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid said that 15000 beds will be added in private hospitals which are included in the panel and added that complaint cell will also be set up for the scheme.

The journalists and retired workers will be given Sehat Insaf Cards, she added. Provincial Minister for Mines Ammar Yasir hoped that Usman Buzdar will solve lingering issue as he is serving the people with hard work.

Earlier, the CM inaugurated Government Degree College for Women Bhagowal which has been constructed with an amount of Rs 111.8 million. He laid the foundation stone of entertainment park and water sports project at Dhoke Tahlian Lake which will be completed at an amount of Rs100 million. He laid the foundation stone of BS Block at Government Postgraduate College Chakwal. This project will be completed with an amount of Rs160 million. Chief Minister also laid the foundation stone of construction of link road and resort at Dharabi Lake in Chakwal. Rs80 million will be spent on it.
