Qaimkhani, Anklesaria’s judicial remand extended till Dec 18

ISLAMABAD: The Accountability Court hearing the multibillion rupees fake bank accounts case on Thursday extended judicial remands of Liaquat Qaimkhani and Dr Dinshaw Anklesaria till December 18.

Hearing the case, Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir extended remand of former director general Parks, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Liaquat Qaimkhani and an accountant of Park Lane Estate Company Dr Dinshaw Anklesaria, allegedly owned by Zardari till December 18.

The officials of NAB produced both the suspects before Accountability Court on expiry of their remand term from Adiala Jail amid tight security arrangements. The court following hearing the arguments extended their remand term.

According to the NAB, Dr Dinshaw Anklesaria is also facing charges of taking a loan on forged documents. He is also said to be involved in benefiting Park Lane Company through fake bank accounts.

Qaimkhani is facing charges regarding illegal allotment of Bagh Ibn-e-Qasim land to real estate giant Bahria Town for its Icon Tower in Karachi. Bagh Ibn-e-Qasim is a public park in Karachi.

According to the statement released by the NAB after his arrest, Qaimkhani was involved in setting up 71 ghost parks in Karachi over a period of 20 years. He also registered fake companies for carrying out repair and maintenance in the ghost parks, revealed the officials of NAB.
