KARACHI: The stock market slumped Thursday and right after the commencement of trading the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) had to trigger market halt at 09:37am. It was the 6th market halt during last nine days.

The PSX informed the market participants that due to 5.0 percent decline in the KSE-30 Index, the market halt was triggered at 09:37.

All equity and equity based derivative markets remained suspended for 45 minutes and reopened following a 5-minute pre-open session.

The market witnessed the 6th halt when the KSE-100 Index dropped 1,562 points, having traded 8.5 million shares.
