ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will address the nation on Monday (today) regarding the latest situation due to coronavirus outbreak in the country.

According to sources, the prime minister, during his address, would present a comprehensive roadmap in front of the nation at this difficult time.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Core Committee at Bani Gala on Sunday.

The sources said that the Core Committee discussed the issues pertaining to lockdown, economy, national needs and cooperation from the opposition parties. They said that the country’s capacity to deal with the virus and assistance from international partners also came under discussion.

They said that the prime minister consulted the committee about the economic situation due to coronavirus and proposed lockdown of the country.

They said that the committee also briefed about the all steps taken by the provinces to deal with the situation from protecting coronavirus and providing relief package to the poor segments of society in the country.

According to the sources, Imran Khan said that first priority of the government was to give relief to the poor people in this situation.

The prime minister also gave special task to the members of the National Assembly (MNAs) belonging to the PTI and included them in Coronavirus Relief Tiger Force for providing assistance to the poor people.

The meeting was attended by Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, Chief Minister Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan, Governor Sindh Imran Ismail, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Sarwar, Governor Shah Farman, Sheikh Rashid, Interior Minister Ijaz Shah, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Jahangir Tareen, Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, Pervaiz Khattak, Fawad Chaudhry, Zulfi Bukhari, Secretary General Amir Kiyani, Shafqat Mehmood, Murad Saeed, and other senior leaders.
