KARACHI: The COVID-19-related death toll rose to 14 in the country after two patients died in Karachi here on Sunday.

Sindh Minister of Health & Population Welfare Dr Azra Fazal Pechuho said the both individuals died on late Saturday night. They were 83 and 70, respectively.

“We received the lab reports of both patients after they had passed away and we found out that the cause of death in both cases was Pneumonia along with COVID-19,” the minister said.

The official website of Ministry of National Health Services Regulations and Coordination shows that Pakistan reported a total 15, 60 confirmed COVID-19 cases till Sunday evening, of them 15,18 cases are active, 14 patients dead, some 11 patients in critical situation, while 28 have recovered.

The country reported some 34 new cases of Coronavirus on Sunday alone.

The active cases share some 97. 3 percent of the total number of reported confirmed patients, and death ratio is 0.9 percent recoveries 18 percent so far.

Punjab and KPK are top in terms of deaths toll, as both the province have so far reported 5 cases each. Sindh reported two deaths, while GB and Baluchistan reported one each.

Punjab has so far reported a total 571 cases, followed by Sindh with 502, KPK 188, Balochistan 138, Gilgit Baltistan 116, ICT 43, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir 2.

As for as province wise recoveries are concerned, Sindh tops with 14, Punjab 4, GB 4, ICT 2, KPK 2, and Balochistan 2.

ICT has 41 active COVID-19 cases, Sindh 486, Punjab 562, KPK 181, Baluchistan 135, GB 111 and AJK 2.
