Significant cut in prices of imported RLNG notified

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Monday notified a significant reduction in the prices of imported Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) for the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGCL) and the Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) for the month of April.

According to a notification, there is $1.5593 per mmbtu (Million British Thermal Unit) decreased in the weighted average sale price without the GST of imported RLNG on the system of the Sui Southern Gas Pipelines Company (SSGC) for the month of April as compared to March.

The new price of the RLNG for SSGC system has been fixed at $8.2491 per mmbtu, which was $ 9.8084 per mmbtu during the last month at transmission stage.

Similarly, there is $ 1.5087 per mmbtu decreased weightage average sale price without GST of imported RLNG on the system of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Company Limited (SNGPL) for the current month as compared to the corresponding month.

The new price of the LNG for SNGPL system has been fixed at $8.6174, which was $10.2161 per mmbtu in March.

The RLNG price for Pakistan is linked to the three-month average Brent price under the Pakistan-Qatar agreement.

Pakistan has imported 7 RLNG vessels out of which five vessels are handled by the Pakistan State Oil (PSO).

The vessels come at 13.37pc of the Brent price. The remaining vessels are handled by Pakistan LNG Ltd.
