KARACHI: The rupee showed mixed trend against the dollar in the currency market on Tuesday.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: The rupee gained 22 paisas against the dollar for buying in the interbank market, closing in at Rs 166.60. On the other hand, the rupee went in the other direction for selling, losing 41 paisas from Tuesday, closing in at Rs 167.20.

OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee appreciated by 40 paisas for buying at Rs 165.8, while lost 10 pasias for the selling rate, closing at Rs 166.80, as per the market sources. Rupee was seen trading virtually at similar levels as Monday, against the Euro for both buying and selling at Rs 180 and Rs182, respectively. While the buying and selling rates for the UAE Dirham against Pakistani rupee stayed the same at Rs 44 and Rs 44.4 respectively, the rupee lost 30 paisas against the Saudi Riyal for buying rate, in the open market.
