RECORDER REPORT

KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has written letter to the Prime Minister Imran Khan warning him regarding a ‘massive’ locust attack could be expected after May 15 on the agricultural fields of the province.

The chief minister said that he feared crops could be damaged if the fields weren’t sprayed in the coming days.

The CM has requested that necessary instructions may kindly be issued to concerned quarters for making immediate arrangements of six (6) aircrafts for aerial spray, ULV Sprayers, pesticides including ULV, Lambda Cyhalothrine, and Emulsified Concentrate (EC) in sufficient quantity besides deployment of necessary field teams.

According to the letter, the Food and Agriculture Organization has warned that the intensity of the locusts’ attack will be more severe than it was in the same month last year.
