KARACHI: Foreign selling continued as offshore investors withdrew 68.971 million dollars from the local capital market during the month of April 2020.

The cumulative outflow from foreign investors’ portfolio investment (FIPI) increased to 207.211 million during the current calendar year from January 1, 2020 to date.

The foreign investors withdrew $11.558 million only during the outgoing week ended on April 30, 2020.

During this week, the foreign selling was seen in the E&P and fertilizers sectors.

However, local investors and institutional buying supported the Pakistan Stock Exchange to close on a positive note with healthy gains.

During the outgoing week, the Pakistan Stock Exchange’s KSE-100 index increased by 1260.81 points or 3.8 percent on week-on-week basis and closed at 34,111.64 points level.
