“You are referring to second-tier leadership right, I mean the first-tier leadership bestows whatever is in his/her power to whoever he/she deems appropriate.”
“Yes and there are only three possible bestowers – Zardari sahib, Nawaz Sharif and The Khan.”
“Hey Zardari sahib’s party is in power in Sindh so he has that pie to bestow, but Nawaz Sharif is not in government anywhere so no pie…”
“You can’t be convicted, in jail, and get to leave the country if you do not have some piece of the pie to bestow…”
“I agree, and the Sharifs have some ingredients that may be used to prepare a pie at short notice so there you are.”
“True, but what about those who have the icing? I mean technically you can do without the icing, I personally prefer cakes without the icing…”
“You mean those small regional parties who form coalitions with the government of the day routinely like the Maulana or Asfandyar Wali?”
“Maulana’s voice box has been deactivated though he is engaged in some out of the box solutions which have so far not gotten any traction and Asfandyar Wali was wiped out in the 2018 polls.”
“That leaves the Chaudhrys who have gone to court challenging National Accountability Bureau’s power to reopen the case against them.”
“See the problem is that as per reports The Khan simply doesn’t like Chaudhry Pervez Elahi and sons looks and my suggestion: the family is rich enough to get some plastic surgery.”
“Don’t be facetious; I reckon the reports on the Chaudhrys meeting the Sharifs who as I said earlier have the ingredients to make the pie…”
“Got it, but isn’t it advisable to plead your case with the one who wields the knife that cuts the pie?”
