ISLAMABAD: The capital city witnessed a decline in crime rate during the last week as only three cases of various kinds of theft, four cases of carjacking, and a case of murder were reported to various police stations of the city.

According to data gathered by Business Recorder, cases of various kinds of theft including robbery and snatching, four cases of motor vehicle theft and report of killing of an 11-year old boy were registered.

During the last week, Tarnol Police registered one case each of auto theft and robbery.

Auto thieves stole a car bearing registration number lLY-300 belonging to Muhammad Tariq Wazir worth Rs2,000,000.

Similarly, Mehboob Anjum lodged a complaint with Tarnol Police Station that an accused, Naseer Ali stole Rs226,000 from his property office.

An 11-year-old boy, Muhammad Hamad, was murdered in the limits of Industrial Area Police Station.

The victim’s uncle told police that he and the child were going to his friend’s house in I-9 from New Katarian in Rawalpindi, when individuals on a motorcycle fired at Hamad, when they reached the Service Road.

Siyra Ali lodged complaint with Shalimar Police Station that the accused Tajamul Abbas stole foreign currency of value Rs2,000,000 from her house.

Auto thieves stole a car bearing registration number AWP-402 belonging to Amjad Ali worth Rs500,000 from the limits of Aabpra Police Station.

Motor vehicle thieves stole a bike bearing registration number GTH 3948.
