ISLAMABAD: The nationwide tally of coronavirus cases has reached to 40,151 with 1,352 new cases and 39 new deaths reported during the last 24 hours.

With a total of 15,590 cases, Sindh is at the top of the most confirmed cases of Covid-19 followed by Punjab with 14,584 cases. As many as 5,847 cases have so far confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2,544 in Balochistan, 527 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 947 in Islamabad and 112 in Azad Kashmir.

A total of 11,341 patients have so far recovered from the virus whilst the death toll stands at 873 with 39 new deaths reported during the last 24 hours, according to Federal Ministry of Health Services. About 14175 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours whereas the government has conducted a total of 373,410 tests so far.

Meanwhile, more than 500 ventilators have been preserved in the warehouse of National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) as strategic reserves, to be delivered to provinces according to their needs, a spokesperson for the Authority said on Sunday.

He said sufficient ventilators are available in Sindh as per needs of Covid-19 patients in the province.

The spokesperson further said the NDMA is also providing assistance to all provinces including Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan on behalf of the federation.
