KARACHI: Pakistan Rupee showed mixed trend on Monday. It showed no change against USD in interbank market over Thursday’s rates while in open market; it gained value for buying and lost value for selling.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: RATES: In the interbank market, Pakistan Rupee showed no change for buying and selling against USD over Thursday’s rates closing at 160 and 160.50 respectively.

OPEN MARKET RATES: In the open market, against USD, PKR gained 20 paisas for buying and weakened by 20 paisas for selling with respect to Thursday’s rates closing at 160 and 161 respectively.

Against Euro, PKR lost 50 paisas for both buying and selling closing at 171.50 and 173 respectively.

Against UAE Dirham, PKR gained 10 paisas for buying and lost 10 paisas for selling closing at 42.80 and 43.30 respectively.

Against Saudi Riyal, PKR strengthened by 20 paisas for buying and by 10 paisas for selling closing at 41.70 and 42.10 for buying and selling respectively.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pak rupee recovered its earlier loss in relation to the greenback in the local currency markets on Monday.

According to currency dealers, the greenback opened at Rs 169.00 and Rs 161.80 on buying and selling sides, respectively, as against same rate on Saturday. At the close, the dollar was traded at Rs 158.50 and Rs 161.00 on buying and selling counters, respectively, the dealers added.

On the other hand, the British Pound was traded at Rs 195.00 and Rs 198.50 on buying and selling sides, respectively, as against Rs 194.00 and Rs 198.00 on Saturday, the dealers added.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The dollar gained 50 paisas against the rupee at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Monday.

The dollar opened at Rs161 (buying) and Rs 161.10 (selling) against last rate of Rs160.50 (buying) and Rs 160.60 (selling).

It closed at Rs161 (buying) and Rs 161.10 (selling).

The buying and selling rates of one tola of gold were Rs 104,300 (selling) and Rs 104,100 (buying) in the local Sarafa (gold) markets of twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
