LAHORE: The Punjab food department has seized more than 90,000 bags of wheat in 10 districts of the province and initiated legal action against the hoarders.

As many as 762 raids were conducted and 267 vehicles were confiscated while 213 FIRs were registered against the accused.

The action will continue even during the Eid holidays on the instructions of Senior Minister Punjab Abdul Aleem Khan who is personally monitoring all this campaign.

Aleem Khan said raids were conducted against hoarders in Gujranwala, Layyah, Khanewal, Mandi Bahauddin, Chakwal and many other cities where huge stocks of wheat was seized.
