LAHORE: Provincial Senior and Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan has said that the decision of ensuring the price of per kilogram of sugar at Rs 70 will be fully implemented in Punjab and clear instructions have been issued to the administration across the province in this regard.

“No negligence will be tolerated in this regard and every shop would be bound to sell the sugar at Rs 70 per kg,” he said in a statement issued on Sunday. He added that Prime Minister Imran Khan has also taken a personal interest in reducing the price of sugar.

He expressed that the reduction in sugar prices after petrol is a welcome thing, adding that citizens are getting “relief” in various fields and even in the most difficult of circumstances, it has made things easier for the common man. The minister vowed to keep the prices of flour and wheat as stable as the sugar and wherever violations are committed, the administration will take stern action.
