RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has apologized from the people over her statement about the people of Lahore in the perspective of Covid-19 pandemic.

Talking to a private channel, Dr Yasmin Rashid said that she was very upset about the rising number of coronavirus cases in Lahore when she made the statement. She said: “I am 70 years old and I consider myself as mother of Lahoris; I was born in Lahore and whole Lahore is like my family so I am worried about rising cases of the virus in the city.” She added that she is sorry if her statement offended anyone.

It may be noted that Dr Yasmin Rashid in another TV programme said: “Sometimes I think Lahoris [feel they] are a special creation of God who are never ready to listen. I don’t think there is any nation as ignorant as us. No matter how many times you tell them to take precautionary measures, they never follow instructions.”
