ISLAMABAD: The federal government has deferred discussions on the privatisation of Roosevelt Hotel, Manhattan, New York; policy guidelines with respect to sale price of RLNG, and 2020-2021 projections for urea fertiliser for Thursday (today). Two separate meetings of the Cabinet Committee on Privatisation (CCoP) and the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) were scheduled to be held under the chair of Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance Hafeez Sheikh on Wednesday, however, the meetings were rescheduled for Thursday, due to cabinet meeting on Wednesday. Today, the CCoP will discuss a single-point agenda of privatisation of Roosevelt Hotel, Manhattan, New York owned by the Pakistan International Airlines Investment Limited (PIAIL) a subsidiary of the PIA.

The summary was moved by the Aviation Division amid the aviation minister’s statement that more than 30 percent of civilian pilots in Pakistan have fake licenses and are not qualified to fly.

The privatisation of the hotel was not in the active list of 18 entities to be privatised in current financial year, which was released by the Privatisation Division last month.

A meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee, which was to be held on Wednesday, has been also postponed owing to cabinet meeting, said an official of the Finance Ministry.

He further stated that meeting of the ECC may be held today.

The meeting was to take up Ministry of Industries and Production’s proposal with regard to 2020-2021 production of urea fertiliser and the Petroleum Division agenda of policy guidelines with regards to sale price of RLNG.
