ISLAMABAD: National Assembly Standing Committee on Information and Broadcasting has directed the PTV management to come up with the proposals to streamline their system so that Committee could take them appropriate forum for their amicable solution.

The Committee met with Member National Assembly (MNA) Mian Javed Latif in the chair in Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) office Islamabad on Thursday afternoon.

During the meeting, the Committee members expressed grave concern over the loopholes in the existing system of Pakistan Television (PTV) and directed that management of PTV may come up with the proposals to streamline their system so that Committee could take them appropriate forum for their amicable solution.

The Committee decided to convene its next meeting in PTV Headquarters in next week to have comprehensive briefing on its overall performance to find out the solution of pertaining issues of PTV.

Earlier, Secretary, Ministry of Information, Chairman & Managing Director, PTV informed the Committee about the efforts made by them to enhance the performance of PTV and problems faced by them in this regard.

The meeting was attended by Engr. Usman Khan Tarakai, MNA, Tahir Iqbal, MNA, Muhammad Akram Cheema, MNA, Aftab Jahangir, MNA, Javeria Zafar Aheer, MNA, Syma Nadeem, MNA, Kanwal Shauzab, MNA, Maiza Hameed, MNA and Federal Minister for Information & Broadcasting.
